Radical London statement of common purpose:
Radical London is a network of independent local groups that support and participate in community-based campaigns and struggles, and spread radical, anti-capitalist, anti-authoritarian and pro-working class ideas and solidarity in their areas.
We want to get rid of the current system which places profit and power before people’’s real needs and elieve that the only effective way to achieve this is for people to get organised, fight back and take over all the resources and decision-making in our own communities and workplaces.
By bringing groups together to share information and to support each other, and actively aiding the development of new groups, we can help
promote effective opposition to oppression and exploitation throughout
all corners of London.
A bit of background
At the beginning of 2009, a handful of existing groups, including Action East End, Whitechapel Anarchist Group, Haringey Solidarity Group and Hackney Solidarity Network, started meeting every couple of months to swap ideas and support each other, before formally launching at the Anarchist Bookfair 2009.
The meetings have provided mutual encouragement, as well as forwarding an achievable plan of publicising the network and the importance of pro-working class resistance groups.
We give practical advice and support to groups that are having trouble getting going or are at some difficult stage of their development.
The following groups are currently involved:
Camden Anarchist Group
Hackney Solidarity Network
Haringey Solidarity Group
Radical Islington
Action East End (Newham & Tower Hamlets)
Walthamstow Anarchist Group
Whitechapel Anarchist Group
